What the heck is up with people that gave up on Laserdiscs for this more restrictive format? Snobs unite, if you don't have Betamax, you don't deserve 4K.oops, this person wants that lowly bluray content, but only region free next player has to be region free, 4K Blutray, DVD and Laserdisc compatible or you are not wasting your money properly! Ibm rational rhapsody 7.5 crack. Now you're all idiots that haven't had surround sound since 1973 when I bought mine? You all all causing my investment to drop!!! 220V is the baseline. Any step down to 117v is giving up on the ultimate experience, plus your need the 4D chair, and the mister from the ceiling and everything else. It is very obvious that OP had no clue what we feel is worthwhile. My Oppo BDP 103D cost $600. Quality costs money. Well worth it for me, both for build quality and the best customer service in the business. Try to get an email answer from Sony on a weekend. No problem for Oppo. Of course, nowadays you can get about 10 or more Sony blu-ray players for the cost of a single Oppo. While its' likely true that Sony's customer service would be nonexistant, I've never personally needed to use customer service relating to a DVD or blu-ray player. Always able to figure out any setup questions myself, and if it breaks. That usually doesn't happen for at least 5 or 10 years (in fact, I have a Sony DVD player more than 12 years old that's still going strong, but now I just use it for CD playback only). I guess it's all relative. For those that spend $20,000 or $100,000 on a Home Theater - an Oppo is probably no big deal, it's just part of the package. For those of us that might only spend $2000-$4000, the Sony or Panasonic player probably gets the job done and has relatively the same useful life as the Oppo. Browsing through the forums here, I've noticed many posts from people who REFUSE to go region free and will ONLY buy releases that are native to their own region.
